Camera Surveillance in Group Homes: An Update

Pressure has mounted in the assembly to post this bill for a vote. Though there have been several changes to A4013 to provide more restrictions to ensure an individual’s privacy and human rights without providing any evidence that cameras do anything to prevent abuse and neglect.

In addition, it appears that the most important person in this discussion, the individual, may have had little attention paid to their perspective.

ABCD does not support this legislation not only because of the policy, but because of the process by which the bill was created and amended.
