ABCD Testifies in Opposition to Camera Surveillance Bill

The Assembly Human Services Committee voted unanimously in favor of A4013 which would require        group homes to install electronic monitoring devices in common areas, upon request and with uniform resident consent.

New Jersey citizens do not need a law to allow individuals and their families the option of camera surveillance in their group homes, as there are many group homes which already employ this technology. The choice for consumers and their families exists today on the front end.  If enacted, we believe that this law would effectively promote the use of camera surveillance by the State in individuals’ homes.
