25 Plus 1 Carton of Masks Donated by Bergen County’s United Way

When Tom Toronto, President of Bergen County’s United Way asked if we could use any more masks our answer was, “Always. Anytime. Any Amount.”  Tom turned around and was able to secure 50,000 masks for the ABCD membership. And when we asked if he could possibly raise it to an even 52,000 to ensure that all of ABCD’s members who provide residential and/or day services could receive a carton, he made it happen.

“Thanks to Tom and the United Way. During these uncertain times and especially challenging circumstances in finding resources needed to ensure our staff and consumers are safe, it was great to receive these items. It’s reassuring to know that our mission is supported and is recognized as being so important,” Paul Ronollo, Director of Residential and Community Supports, Advancing Opportunities.

And from Chief Executive Officer Cindy Wildermuth, “Abilities of NW Jersey is truly grateful for the generous donation of PPE to ensure the safety of our entire Abilities family.  Support from community partners, like BCUW, are needed and appreciated during these unprecedented times, “

We thank Bergen County’s United Way’s commitment to statewide support of all in need. COVID 19 knows no boundaries— neither does the generosity of Tom T and BCUW.
